Episode 28 - The Discomfort

INT.  KIRANA’S BEDROOM.  EDWARD IS STROKING KIRANA’S ARM AS SHE SLEEPS.

EDWARD
Good morning, sleepy head.

KIRANA
(yawning) Morning.

EDWARD
(kissing her shoulder)  Rise and shine.  We have a lot to do today.

KIRANA
(suddenly wide awake) Oh no!  What have I done.

EDWARD
Shhhh, my sweet.  It’s okay.

KIRANA
What?  No it’s not!

EDWARD
Did you have fun last night?

KIRANA
Well, yes, but that’s not the point.

EDWARD
(laughing and fondling her) Of course it is.  It is the only point worth making.

KIRANA
Stop it.  (gets out of bed)

EDWARD
We still have a little bit of time.  No need to get up quite so soon.  In fact, I think we still need to get to know each other a little better.  It will improve our... performance.

KIRANA
You have to leave.

EDWARD
Come on beautiful.  The night doesn’t have to end quite yet, even if the day has broken.

KIRANA
I mean it.  Oh dear.  How could I have been so stupid!

EDWARD
Stop beating yourself up.  You weren’t stupid.  We had a wonderful meal, lively conversation, and an instant chemical attraction.  Us spending the night together was an inevitable conclusion.

KIRANA
You don’t understand.

EDWARD
No, I don’t.

KIRANA
I slept with a married man, and my boss’s husband to boot!  There is no greater definition of career suicide.

EDWARD
Nonsense.  We are just two human beings attracted to each other.  What we did was natural, and if you come back to bed I can remind you of just how natural the whole thing is.

KIRANA
Mrs Drummond is going to kill me.  Or at the very least, run me out of town.

EDWARD
(laughing and getting out of bed and crossing to her). Look into my eyes.  Noone is going to kill you.  (kisses her)  Unless I make you die of pleasure of course.

KIRANA
No, I can’t.

EDWARD
Yes you can.  You already have.

KIRANA
Don’t remind me.

EDWARD
Oh, I tend to remind you in every way possible.  (pulling her towards the bed and then pushing them both onto it).

KIRANA
(breathlessly) Edward!

EDWARD
Uh, uh.  It is time to let our bodies do the talking.

END.

JO BOYD TAKES OVER THE ROLE OF KIRANA

In 2019 the role of Kirana has been taken over by Jo Boyd as we sadly had to say goodbye to Gabrielle Reiher at Christmas. Gabrielle has gone on to focus on other exciting opportunities. You may remember Jo from filling in the role of Ruby Drummond when Maree Shefford was a bit poorly. When we realised we needed a new Kirana we didn't have to look far at all. Welcome to the team Jo!!!

Jo Boyd is playing the role of Kirana
Jo is a mother, a grandmother and a small business owner and also really enjoys modelling and creative photography. She has a real passion for acting which has steered her toward film and podcasting and in all of this she relishes a good challenge! Jo's films include The Last Hope, To Love Somebody, Dark Night of the Zomboogies, Blue, Faberge Black, and The Faceless Man. She is currently filming Of Course God Is Italian. Jo also featured in the music video Which Witch is Which. Jo would love to take on more featured speaking roles and extras work.
