Episode 23 - The Alterations

INT.  BANNISTER HOUSE

SIENNA
Em, we’re back.

EMERALD
Great.  Show me what you found.

SIENNA
Okay.  It’s lovely, but nowhere near as good as the dress you made for me.

EMERALD
That’s alright.  I have a plan.

BRICK
What plan?

EMERALD
I will tell you in a moment.  First show me the dress.  I won’t really know what needs to be done until I see it, and we really don’t have much time left.

BRICK PUTS DRESS BOX ON TABLE AND SIENNA OPENS IT AND PULLS OUT DRESS.

SIENNA
Voila!  Here it is.

EMERALD
Okay.  I see. Hmmm.

SIENNA
Oh, god.  You hate it!

EMERALD
No I don’t Si.  It is truly beautiful and if you were one of the audience this would be perfect.

SIENNA
But I am not in the audience.  I am on the stage.  I am supposed to wow them all.

BRICK
You will, Sienna, you will.  Relax.  It is a gorgeous dress and you look stunning in it.  You loved it when you put it on, remember.

SIENNA
It’s true.  I did really enjoy wearing it, but not for the launch show stopper!

EMERALD
Si, the dress is gorgeous and I think I know exactly what needs to be done.  Put it on, quickly, so I can get started.

BRICK
What are you up to, young Emerald?

EMERALD
Well, grandpa Brick, I am going to turn this dress from stunning to OMG this is the most amazing gown in the world in...less that 24 hours!

SIENNA
How are you going to do that?

EMERALD
Why don’t you leave the details to your incredibly talented sister, and you just relax, have a glass of wine with Brick and focus on your performance tomorrow?

SIENNA
What do you think Brick?

BRICK
I think we need to trust Em.  She is amazingly talented and she obviously has a clear plan in her head.  Do you really think you can get it done in time?

SIENNA
Yes, sis.  Right now at least I have a dress.  What if you don’t get the alterations done in time?  Then I won’t have anything at all to wear.

EMERALD
Well if you keep talking rather than letting me get on with it, that is exactly what is going to happen.  I don’t have much time, so please, put the dress on right now.

BRICK
Go on Si.  Let’s trust her.

EMERALD
Thanks Brick.  Come on Si.  You know I won’t let you down.  There is no way I am going to let that little upstart, Flora, outshine you on your debut.  You know I’ve got your back.

SIENNA
I know Em.  Okay, let’s do this!

END.

JO BOYD TAKES OVER THE ROLE OF KIRANA

In 2019 the role of Kirana has been taken over by Jo Boyd as we sadly had to say goodbye to Gabrielle Reiher at Christmas. Gabrielle has gone on to focus on other exciting opportunities. You may remember Jo from filling in the role of Ruby Drummond when Maree Shefford was a bit poorly. When we realised we needed a new Kirana we didn't have to look far at all. Welcome to the team Jo!!!

Jo Boyd is playing the role of Kirana
Jo is a mother, a grandmother and a small business owner and also really enjoys modelling and creative photography. She has a real passion for acting which has steered her toward film and podcasting and in all of this she relishes a good challenge! Jo's films include The Last Hope, To Love Somebody, Dark Night of the Zomboogies, Blue, Faberge Black, and The Faceless Man. She is currently filming Of Course God Is Italian. Jo also featured in the music video Which Witch is Which. Jo would love to take on more featured speaking roles and extras work.
