Episode 20 - The Intrusion

INT.  RUBY’S OFFICE

RIVER
The catering has been finalized.  The set is almost finished.  Emerald just needs to drop in the backdrop cloth we were working on today. I believe Flora and Edward had their first rehearsal this afternoon, so I assume that will work out too.

RUBY
I hope so.  How did Sienna go finding a new dress?

RIVER
I haven’t heard back from her yet.  Brick went with her though, so it should go okay.  You know, we were all pretty shocked with your decision about this.

RUBY
I know.  It was a hard call to make, but I really didn’t have a choice.  You know, there is some truth to the belief that she is being left out of things.

RIVER
Mum, she is not being left out.  She doesn’t want to participate.  There is a difference you know.

RUBY
I know.  It just made me really upset seeing the three of you together without her.  She needs role models and guidance at this point in her life, and who better to turn to for that than her own sister and cousins?

RIVER
You are right, mum.  I will try harder with her.  She doesn’t make it easy though.

RUBY
Perhaps you should give her a call to see how rehearsals went?

MICHAEL STORMS IN.

MICHAEL
Ruby!  What the hell is going on?

RUBY
Michael.  Hi.  I was kind of expecting you.

MICHAEL
I bet you were!  Is it true?  Have you given Sienna’s costume to Flora?

RUBY
River, I think we have covered all the important things.  You can go.

RIVER
Are you sure you want me to leave Mum?

RUBY
Yes.  Go.  Your uncle and I have to sort this out alone.

RIVER
Okay, but I won’t be far away.  Call me if you need me.  (River exits).

END.

JO BOYD TAKES OVER THE ROLE OF KIRANA

In 2019 the role of Kirana has been taken over by Jo Boyd as we sadly had to say goodbye to Gabrielle Reiher at Christmas. Gabrielle has gone on to focus on other exciting opportunities. You may remember Jo from filling in the role of Ruby Drummond when Maree Shefford was a bit poorly. When we realised we needed a new Kirana we didn't have to look far at all. Welcome to the team Jo!!!

Jo Boyd is playing the role of Kirana
Jo is a mother, a grandmother and a small business owner and also really enjoys modelling and creative photography. She has a real passion for acting which has steered her toward film and podcasting and in all of this she relishes a good challenge! Jo's films include The Last Hope, To Love Somebody, Dark Night of the Zomboogies, Blue, Faberge Black, and The Faceless Man. She is currently filming Of Course God Is Italian. Jo also featured in the music video Which Witch is Which. Jo would love to take on more featured speaking roles and extras work.
