Episode 6 - The Allocations

INT.  DRESSING ROOM. RIVER AND SIENNA
RIVER
And here is your dressing room Sienna.

SIENNA
Wow.  This is great.  Thanks River.

RIVER
We decided to give you and Flora the larger rooms because for classical work you will have larger gowns to contend with, and possible wigs and so forth.

SIENNA
Ugh.  True.  Will we be changing rooms depending on the shows?

RIVER
No.  The family are the core repertory company, so we decided you four would have permanent individual dressing rooms and then there are two other larger dressing rooms for supplementary cast members.

SIENNA
Great.  I can put up pictures, then and make the place my little sanctuary.

RIVER
Absolutely.  Feel free to get carried away, just remember this is a place for you to centre yourself before a performance, so I wouldn’t recommend cluttering it with too much graffiti and dead skulls (both laugh).

SIENNA
You know that’s what Flora’s is going to end up looking like, don’t you?

RIVER
(big sigh)  Can we please have 5 minutes without Flora being the axis upon which the entire world revolves.  Please!  (Sienna gives her a hug and Brick enters)

BRICK
Hey cus, do you like your new digs? Hey, is everything okay sis?

SIENNA
It’s fine.  I just accidently mentioned Flora (both women laugh)

BRICK
Groan.  A great way to ruin a lovely moment!

RIVER
Alright you two.  We all have to stop this and try and treat Flora with respect.  We are going to be working together for a very long time, so we need to try to come to some sort of peace with both Flora and Edward.

BRICK
Bloody pommy upstart!

RIVER
Brick!

BRICK
I know, I know.  I will suck it up.

RIVER
I have to go.  I need to check that the staging is being installed in the foyer.  No nasty gossip while I am gone – I want to be part of it all! (she winks and the others laugh as she leaves)

BRICK
Personally, I am glad Flora has been kicked out of the launch.  It is annoying for us both to have to work with someone so unskilled for such an important event as the launch.  We would be spending all our energy having to cover up her mistakes and try and make her look good.

SIENNA
That’s not really fair Brick.  She actually does have some talent, and what 15 year old is going to have the skills and training you have?

BRICK
You and Emerald to name just two!

SIENNA
Well, yes, but we grew up in an acting family.  Mum and Dad both had amazing international film careers so we had access to some of the best practitioners in the world to learn from pretty much from the moment we could walk.  We also had access to professional work in commercials and with Disney.  Most kids, no matter how good they are, don’t have those opportunities.

BRICK
Grrrr.  Stop being so reasonable.  I am unlikely to change my mind about her, and never about that ups layabout people call my stepfather.

SIENNA
I know.  (changing the subject) So how do you like your dressing room?  Impressive, aren’t they?

BRICK
Well, it appears yours is somewhat bigger than mine.  Who did you have to sleep with to get one this size?  (both laugh)

END.

JO BOYD TAKES OVER THE ROLE OF KIRANA

In 2019 the role of Kirana has been taken over by Jo Boyd as we sadly had to say goodbye to Gabrielle Reiher at Christmas. Gabrielle has gone on to focus on other exciting opportunities. You may remember Jo from filling in the role of Ruby Drummond when Maree Shefford was a bit poorly. When we realised we needed a new Kirana we didn't have to look far at all. Welcome to the team Jo!!!

Jo Boyd is playing the role of Kirana
Jo is a mother, a grandmother and a small business owner and also really enjoys modelling and creative photography. She has a real passion for acting which has steered her toward film and podcasting and in all of this she relishes a good challenge! Jo's films include The Last Hope, To Love Somebody, Dark Night of the Zomboogies, Blue, Faberge Black, and The Faceless Man. She is currently filming Of Course God Is Italian. Jo also featured in the music video Which Witch is Which. Jo would love to take on more featured speaking roles and extras work.
